Global Classroom for students in India believes:
We live in a world where education depicts the future of its successors.

As educators, teaching allows us to change the lives of children, to make them worthy citizens; show them how to be empathetic and to prepare them for the future.

There is a big world just waiting to be explored. If educators don’t innovate the curriculum and integrate the world into their classrooms, some children will never, ever know there is actually a world out there that they can be part of.

     1.  Expertise

Let’s face it, we all can’t know everything.  In these days of tightening budgets, field trips may not be an option.  A perfect solution is to bring the experts and experiences to your classroom. Allowing students to connect with experts not only allows them to hear what they have to say, but to be inquisitive and ask questions.  Whether you participate in a Mystery Skype, explore a museum by a virtual field trip, join a global project, or bring in an expert to your students via a Google Hangout,  you will see direct educational benefits from the learning from their experiences.

    2.  Multicultural Awareness

The second best thing to traveling to a new country is connecting with a country via a video conference.  Having a class discussion with two classrooms in different countries increases student perspective and allows all students to gain new insight.  While literature and videos are great ways to learn about new cultures and different languages, there is no replacement for face time with individuals actually living a different culture and speaking a different language. In addition, students gain a global perspective, understand time zones, can identify cities and countries around the world, and enjoy a first-hand learning experience.  Connected teachers often hang a world map in their rooms and track their hangouts with thumbtacks. This map becomes a great talking point, is a visual reminder of their experiences, and an excellent way to keep track of all the connections made throughout the school.

    3. Academics

Let us have a look at how it benefits the academics of students. Students in different countries are taught differently since the teaching traditions and education systems vary. Also, the cultures and economic conditions change the style and methods of teaching greatly. Connecting to students from other countries will enable students to see, and probably experience different methods of teaching and not only they, but their educators will also learn from it. The course contents will also vary and the discussion between students will help them learn a lot.

    4. Awareness

The global classrooms are a great way to teach students about the diversity of the human race, as well as the living conditions and economic situation of different areas around the world. It is something that will definitely broaden their point of view and will make them aware of international issues and international relations too.

    5. Personality development

Personality development is a very invaluable outcome of global classroom programs. When students meet other students from very different backgrounds and cultures, they learn about the diversity found in the world and they learn to exist and live in harmony with all the different kinds of people and the different cultures that are there. The ability to be flexible enough to live in a multicultural environment is something that every person who wished to succeed must develop, and global classrooms provide students with the golden opportunity to develop this capability. Tolerance and understanding come with the awareness and broadening of vision, and these are qualities that every student must-have. Communication skills are also greatly improved through global classroom programs, and students’ confidence is strengthened.
